Udyam (MSME) Certificate

Udyam Registration is the official registration provided by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India
Introduced on 1st July 2020, it replaced the earlier system of Udyog Aadhaar / MSME registration.
It provides businesses with a unique Udyam Registration Number (URN) and an e-certificate.
Registration is completely online, free of cost, and based on self-declaration (no need to upload documents, just Aadhaar + PAN validation).

1. Micro Enterprise

  • Investment = ?1 crore
  • Turnover = ?5 crore

2. Small Enterprise

  • Investment = ?10 crore
  • Turnover = ?50 crore

3. Medium Enterprise

  • Investment = ?50 crore
  • Turnover = ?250 crore

Registration is paperless (self-declaration), but you'll need:

  • Aadhaar Card of proprietor / partner / director (mandatory)
  • PAN Card of business & promoters
  • Business details: Name, type, start date, address
  • Bank account details (account no., IFSC)
  • NIC Code (National Industrial Classification code of activity)
  • Investment details (plant & machinery/equipment value)
  • Turnover details (as per latest ITR/GST returns)

  • LLPs (Limited Liability Partnerships)
  • Private Limited Companies
  • Public Limited Companies
  • Producer Companies / Co-operatives
  • Self-help groups (SHGs), Societies, Trusts

2. Operational Eligibility

  • Must be engaged in manufacturing, production, processing, or service activities.
  • Traders (retail/wholesale) are now included since 2021 amendment.

3. Other Conditions

  • PAN & Aadhaar mandatory.
  • Must fall under the investment & turnover limits mentioned above.
